Quote: from The Living Christ - We bear testimony...that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God...He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.

Opening Song: I'm Trying to be like Jesus (PCS #78)

Lesson:

There are many different churches in the world.  Churches are all different from each other. Some churches believe some of the same things as our church and some churches believe different things than our church.  Some people in the world have never heard of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and others have heard of us, but aren't quite sure what we believe.

- What are some things you believe about Jesus Christ?

To help everyone in the world understand what our church believes, our church leaders have written statements (or declarations) about what we know is true.  Joseph Smith wrote the 13 Articles of Faith, last week we learned about The Family: A Proclamation to the World.  This week we are going to talk about The Living Christ.

(show copy of The Living Christ)
Because Jesus Christ is so important to us, we wanted everyone to know that we believe in Him and love Him.  The Living Christ says that we believe that Jesus...

- is the Son of God
- created the Earth
- was baptized (show GAK 208: John the Baptist Baptizing Jesus)

- healed the sick
- taught people when He was on  the earth
- gave us the Sacrament
- died for us and was resurrected (GAK 233: Mary and the Resurrected Lord)

- visited the Nephites
- restored His church through Joseph Smith
- will come to the earth again (show GAK 239: The Resurrected Jesus Christ)

- teaches us how to be happy

When other people read The Living Christ they will know that we believe in Him, that we love Him and want to follow His commandments and teachings.

Bear your testimony about the truthfulness of the teachings of The Living Christ. Share with your children how knowing these things about Christ and His divine mission has changed your life for the better.

(For tips on sharing your testimony please click here.)

I've been out of commission for a while because of surgery (AND my husband is gone for the month), but I'm ready to get back to FHE! Thanks for the lesson! Really makes it easy for me!

Again, thank you for all of your hard work. You make 'preparing' FHE wonderful, less stress, and so wonderful!

We invited some friends over for FHE tonight...her husband is in military training, and mine just works insane hours, so between the two of us and our six boys, we sat quietly! and listened! And learned about the wonderful things that Jesus IS and then we colored our hearts out and made those adorable books. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for helping me to bring the Spirit into our home. :)
